Israeli forces demolish villages in southern Lebanon amid escalating conflict

Lebanon: Israeli forces have carried out large-scale demolitions across villages in southern Lebanon during the ongoing conflict. Reports indicate that homes in areas such as Taybeh, Naqoura and Deir Seryan were rigged with explosives and destroyed through remote detonation. Officials stated that the operations were aimed at targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in border regions. However, critics have raised serious concerns, describing the actions as “domicide” and warning of severe civilian impact. Authorities also confirmed that more than 2,000 people have been killed since the escalation, while plans for a security zone near the border may further delay the return of displaced residents. Experts believe the situation could intensify regional instability and prolong humanitarian challenges.
