Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory administration opened the Rawal Dam spillways at 6:00 AM after rainfall caused the reservoir’s water level to rise above the prescribed limit. According to available official and credible reports, authorities conducted a controlled water release and later closed the spillways after the water level reached 1,747 feet. APP reported that Rescue 1122 and other relevant departments were deployed around bridges, streams and vulnerable downstream points to monitor public safety during the operation. Precautionary arrangements were maintained throughout the water release. The specific claim that one person was arrested for bathing in the stream during this particular operation could not be independently verified from the available credible reports and is therefore not presented as a confirmed fact.
