Lahore: WASA Punjab has been placed on high alert ahead of the fourth monsoon spell, with all districts directed to strengthen drainage and emergency response arrangements. Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yasin said both operational and office staff will closely monitor field activities, while uniforms have been made mandatory and attendance will be tracked through geolocation. The desilting process will continue without interruption, and additional machinery and staff will be provided where required. Disposal stations, generators, complaint cells, and drainage equipment must remain fully functional. In case of an emergency, machinery from adjoining districts and WASA Lahore will provide immediate support. Officials were warned that delays in rainwater drainage will not be tolerated.
