Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Plans Forest Larger Than F-9 Park

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced plans to develop a major new urban forest in Islamabad as part of efforts to expand the capital’s green cover. According to reports, authorities have already identified a site that Naqvi described as larger than F-9 Park. He said the project would contribute to environmental protection and greener urban development, while more than one tree would be planted to compensate whenever a tree is removed. Separately, Dawn confirmed that a new forest is planned along Margalla Avenue and that F-9 Park is also expected to undergo an upgrade. However, the government has not yet publicly disclosed the forest’s exact acreage, budget, plantation target or completion timeline.
