Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Delivers Islamabad Interchange in 84 Days

Islamabad: The Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Interchange near sectors F-8 and F-9 was completed under the supervision of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to improve traffic movement at one of Islamabad’s busiest junctions. The project includes a 1.3-kilometre underpass, completed in 42 days, and a 1.1-kilometre flyover, while the entire interchange was completed in 84 days against an original six-month schedule. The project also includes 4.3 kilometres of connecting roads and two kilometres of storm-water drains. According to official figures, around 41,000 vehicles previously crossed F-8 Chowk daily, while the completed interchange was designed to facilitate up to 70,000 vehicles per day. The project cost Rs3.655 billion against an allocated Rs4 billion.
