Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Orders Two New Islamabad Underpasses

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced two new underpass projects at Kashmir Chowk and Faisal Masjid to reduce traffic congestion at key intersections in the federal capital. CDA has already floated a tender for the Kashmir Chowk Underpass near Islamabad Club, with an estimated cost of Rs1.69 billion and tender opening scheduled for August 12. The underpass will provide direct movement towards Rawal Dam Chowk, while Murree-bound traffic will pass above it. The second underpass is planned at the Faisal Avenue-Margalla Road junction near Faisal Masjid and is currently in the design stage. Officials said construction on both projects is expected to begin next month.
