Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Expands Electronic Traffic Control to Vehari

Vehari: The Punjab government has highlighted the rollout of electronic traffic control systems in Vehari under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s technology-driven road-safety programme. An official post from the chief minister’s account confirmed the electronic traffic-control initiative in the city. The system is intended to strengthen traffic monitoring and improve enforcement through digital technology. Punjab Safe Cities Authority already operates technology-based monitoring and electronic challan mechanisms capable of detecting traffic violations through surveillance systems. However, the latest Vehari announcement does not specify the total number of cameras, monitored intersections, project cost or a separate implementation deadline.
