Health minister inaugurates stroke centre during DG Khan hospital visit

Ali Raza Wajid : Dera Ghazi Khan: Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital and inaugurated a Stroke Management Bay Centre during his inspection. Accompanied by senior health officials, he reviewed emergency and trauma services, checked staff attendance, and assessed free medicine availability. The minister also inspected the under-construction Mother and Child Hospital and new OPD, with projects worth over Rs6.7 billion and Rs5.88 billion respectively, expected to be completed next fiscal year. He emphasized strict quality control and highlighted the government’s plan to establish 54 stroke centres across Punjab. Officials stressed the importance of immediate medical response in stroke cases, with Rescue 1122 directed to ensure rapid patient transfer.
