CM reviews Punjab drainage projects, issues monsoon preparedness orders

Muhammad Muzamil Awan : Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to review progress on sewerage and drainage projects under the Punjab Development Program. The session included provincial ministers, the Chief Secretary, and administrative heads from across districts, with DC Gujranwala joining via video link. Officials discussed ongoing schemes, including Suthra Punjab, Model Villages, and pre-monsoon preparedness to ensure timely drainage in low-lying areas. Directions were issued for rapid completion of infrastructure works, regular road washing, early morning cleanliness operations after storms, and deep cleaning at tehsil level. Authorities were instructed to ensure strict implementation of SOPs and maintain efficient coordination for improved urban management ahead of the monsoon season.
