Murree: The Federal Board of Revenue has auctioned Bahria Town’s 527 kanal and 10 marla land in Mauza Kathar Sharqi on Angori Road to recover part of its reported Rs26.47 billion unpaid tax liability. Reports said a Pakistani businessman submitted the highest bid in a fresh auction after the earlier highest bidder could not complete the deal. The total amount payable for the land, including taxes, was reported at around Rs825 million. The auction was conducted under the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 and Income Tax Rules 2002. The buyer’s name was not disclosed. Required payments and legal transfer steps must still be completed, meaning the auction amount does not represent recovery of the entire reported tax liability.
