Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority has opened a new 700-metre, four-lane bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. The bridge can accommodate around 6,000 vehicles per hour and improves traffic movement towards Al Qudra City. According to RTA, the wider intersection upgrade will raise total capacity from 7,800 to 19,400 vehicles per hour and reduce average waiting time by around 85 percent — from nearly seven minutes to about one minute.
The broader Al Qudra Road development also aims to cut journey time along the upgraded corridor from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes. Additional ramp bridges are scheduled to open during the fourth quarter of 2026, further improving connections towards Jebel Ali, Downtown Dubai and Dubai International Airport.
