Dubai churches suspend services following UAE safety directives

Dubai: Several churches across Dubai have temporarily suspended in-person services following safety directives issued by UAE authorities to ensure public protection. Major churches, including St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Francis of Assisi Church, have halted physical gatherings and advised worshippers to avoid visiting church premises until further notice. Some churches have shifted to digital platforms, with live-streamed services such as Good Friday prayers, while others have cancelled events without online alternatives. Officials have emphasized precautionary measures to safeguard community health and maintain public safety standards. Religious leaders have also encouraged parishioners to participate remotely, reinforcing collective responsibility during this period of heightened caution and regulatory compliance.
