DC Lahore raids supermarkets, fines stores over price violations

Lahore: The district administration under Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ijaz carried out inspections at major supermarkets in DHA and Fortress Stadium to ensure compliance with DC counters and price regulations. Assistant Commissioner Sadar Dr Abid Mumtaz Sial and Assistant Commissioner Cantt Syeda Sumbal Javed checked several stores where violations of official rules and presence of substandard items were detected. Authorities imposed fines totaling Rs150,000 on the stores involved. Officials said DC counters are meant to provide affordable and quality food items to the public. The administration warned that strict legal action will continue against profiteers and businesses violating price control regulations.
