Dar and Miliband reaffirm Pakistan–UK partnership during ARF 2026 meeting in Manila

Manila: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met the United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum 2026 in Manila. Dar congratulated Miliband on his appointment and wished him success in his new role. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding Pakistan–UK partnership, while the UK foreign secretary appreciated the role of the Pakistani diaspora in supporting bilateral ties. The meeting also covered regional and international developments, including the security situation and recent tensions in the region. Both sides emphasized dialogue, restraint, and de-escalation as essential for peace. Can stronger Pakistan–UK coordination support regional stability and economic confidence?
