Balochistan Launches People’s Train Service Between Quetta and Kuchlak

The Balochistan government has announced the launch of the People’s Train Service between Quetta and Kuchlak, with Rs1.4 billion set to be released for the project. The plan was revealed by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti during a meeting with Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi, where an agreement in principle was reached between Pakistan Railways and the provincial government. The initiative aims to provide affordable, safe, and reliable transport while improving regional connectivity. Officials said the provincial government will fund new railway stations and upgrade existing infrastructure. Following the success of the Quetta–Kuchlak route, the service will be expanded to Mastung, Pishin, and other areas, supporting mobility and local economic activity.
