Punjab Launches New Digital Property Transfer System

The Punjab government has introduced a new digital Property Transfer System (PTS) under the PULSE land reforms initiative, marking a major shift toward transparency and fraud prevention in property dealings—particularly within private housing societies. Officials said the system will digitally verify land documents, buyer–seller credentials, and society-approved maps before any transfer takes place. This aims to eliminate manual loopholes that previously enabled tampering, duplicate files, delays, and fraudulent transfers. Private housing societies are now required to upload complete project details, plot inventories, and NOCs onto the PTS portal. Once integrated, all transfers within these schemes will be processed digitally instead of through old manual files. Authorities believe the system will safeguard buyers, reduce corruption, and establish a unified and transparent property record system across Punjab—restoring public trust in real estate transactions.
