Islamabad to Get World-Class Cricket Stadium in D-12 Within a Year

Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has reportedly directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to complete a world-class cricket stadium in Islamabad’s D-12 within a year, inspired by Dubai’s modern stadiums. The proposed project includes major facilities such as a hotel for international teams, improved transport links, enhanced parking, and advanced security systems. However, the CDA chairman has denied immediate plans, calling recent media reports “premature” and clarifying that no formal approval has been issued yet. The conflicting statements have created uncertainty about the project’s actual timeline. Despite this, the idea of a state-of-the-art stadium continues to gain traction, as Islamabad lacks a dedicated international-standard cricket venue.
