Lahore: The Punjab government is moving ahead with a major plan to install 200 water bottling plants across the province under the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority. Officials say the feasibility has been completed on the special directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while 22 plants will be set up in Lahore alone. Under the programme, plants will be developed in all 156 tehsils to improve access to safe drinking water. Authorities estimate that more than 4 million people will benefit daily, while 19-litre water bottles will be delivered free of cost to around 630,400 households. The initiative can improve public health, urban services, and confidence in civic infrastructure. Can this project transform clean water delivery in Punjab?
