Abu Dhabi: The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has announced that Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will open to the public on December 11, 2026, in the Saadiyat Cultural District. Designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, the museum covers a total built-up area of 80,000 square metres and includes 30 galleries connected through a central atrium. It will provide 11,600 square metres of indoor gallery space and 23,000 square metres of outdoor exhibition areas. Its collection will focus on modern and contemporary art from the 1960s onwards, presenting works from different regions and artistic traditions. The museum will join Guggenheim institutions in New York, Venice and Bilbao. Details about opening exhibitions, commissioned works, tickets and visitor timings will be announced later.
