Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Launches Agriculture Lab on Wheels

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the “Agriculture Lab on Wheels” initiative to deliver soil and water testing services directly to farmers’ fields. Under the programme, mobile agricultural laboratories are planned for 15 districts, allowing farmers to receive on-site reports on soil fertility and irrigation-water quality. The testing results are intended to support crop planning, fertilizer selection and technical guidance from agriculture experts. The provincial government earlier announced that a central control room would supervise mobile laboratory operations, while 100 container-based farmer facilitation centres would provide digital tools and advisory services across Punjab. Official promotional material says farmers will be able to request field services, but the exact call number, number of operational vehicles and province-wide completion deadline were not disclosed.
