Heavy Rain Floods Bhati Chowk Underpass After Drainage Well Collapses

Lahore: Heavy rainfall reportedly flooded the newly constructed Bhati Chowk Underpass after its drainage well collapsed and turned into a deep pit. According to information circulating from the site, the damaged drainage structure disrupted the removal of rainwater, causing water to accumulate inside the underpass. The incident has raised concerns about construction quality, drainage planning and public safety during Lahore’s monsoon season. The affected section may require immediate inspection, barricading and emergency dewatering before it can safely be opened to traffic. Authorities have not yet publicly clarified the full extent of the damage or announced a timeline for repairs.
