Ferozepur Road cave-in after rain raises fresh concerns over WASA work quality

Lahore: Serious questions have emerged over the quality of development work after a portion of the service road on Ferozepur Road caved in near Nishtar Signal, close to Aiwan-e-Akbari and outside Meezan Bank. According to reports, rainwater caused the road surface to collapse, and three parked motorcycles fell into the pit. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries were reported. The incident has highlighted concerns over the use of substandard material and weak execution in public works linked to drainage and road infrastructure. Such failures can endanger commuters, damage property, disrupt mobility, and weaken public trust in urban management. Will authorities investigate the construction quality and fix the hazard before a bigger accident occurs?
