Clean Drinking Water Project Expanded Across Punjab, New Bottling Plants Operational

The Punjab government has accelerated its clean drinking water initiative by establishing modern bottled water production plants in Khushab, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan. The announcement was made during a special meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where progress on safe drinking water projects across the province was reviewed.

According to officials, the new facilities are designed to ensure the timely supply of safe drinking water to areas affected by contaminated or unsafe water sources. Special distribution trucks will transport bottled water directly to communities facing water quality issues, improving emergency response and public access to clean drinking water.

The Khushab bottling plant has the capacity to produce up to 50,000 bottles per hour, making it one of the province’s largest water production facilities. The initiative is part of Punjab’s broader strategy to strengthen public health infrastructure, improve access to safe drinking water, and reduce the risks associated with contaminated water supplies.
