Faisalabad transporters announce July 21 protest over rising toll and token taxes

Faisalabad: Goods transporters have announced a protest on July 21 against rising token and toll taxes, saying the increasing financial burden is directly affecting their business operations. Mini Mazda Association Chairman Chaudhry Aslam said transporters prefer negotiations instead of a strike and have urged the government to resolve the issue through dialogue. Transporters believe higher taxes are increasing freight costs, reducing profit margins, and creating pressure on small and medium transport operators. Any disruption in goods movement can affect markets, construction material supply, industrial activity, and real estate development timelines. Higher transport costs may also push up prices for consumers and businesses. Can timely negotiations prevent a wider transport disruption in Faisalabad?
