LDA Demolishes Infrastructure of 14 Illegal Housing Schemes and Seals Their Offices

The Lahore Development Authority has launched a major enforcement operation against 14 allegedly illegal housing schemes on the directions of Director General LDA Tahir Farooq. According to the latest LDA update, enforcement teams demolished unauthorised roads, boundary walls, sewerage systems and other development infrastructure established within the schemes.

The offices associated with the schemes were also sealed to prevent further sale, marketing or development activity. The action forms part of the authority’s continuing campaign against housing projects operating without the required approvals and legal permissions. LDA has conducted similar operations in the past, demolishing infrastructure and sealing offices of unauthorised housing schemes.

Prospective buyers have been advised to verify a housing scheme’s approval status and approved layout plan directly from the relevant authority before purchasing a plot or paying booking money. The names and locations of all 14 schemes were not included in the information supplied for this report.
