Pakistan Records Historic $41.6 Billion in Annual Remittances as Overseas Pakistanis Set New National Record

Pakistan recorded its highest-ever annual remittances during FY2025–26, with overseas Pakistanis sending a historic $41.6 billion, reflecting an 8.6% increase compared to the previous fiscal year. Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances, followed by the United Arab Emirates, while significant contributions also came from the United Kingdom, United States, and Italy. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the Pakistani diaspora, describing overseas Pakistanis as a valuable national asset whose continued support strengthens the country’s economy. The record inflows have helped improve Pakistan’s external financial position, support foreign exchange reserves, and provide stability to the national economy, highlighting the strong commitment of millions of Pakistanis working abroad toward supporting their families and homeland.
