US consul praises Maryam Nawaz initiatives as Punjab expands culture and housing plans

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari met US Consul General Lahore Stetson Sanders to discuss cultural cooperation, public welfare initiatives, and future partnerships between Punjab and the American Consulate. The meeting was also attended by Information Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani and Political and Economic Adviser Sadaf Saad. The US Consul General appreciated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s initiatives, including the establishment of Punjab Film City and steps for theatre revival. Both sides discussed possible collaboration between American artists and Alhamra Arts Council. Uzma Bukhari also highlighted major Punjab initiatives for women, students, farmers, and the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” programme, under which 170,000 houses are being built. Can cultural diplomacy and housing reforms strengthen Punjab’s development image?
