Lahore DC reviews Mall Road upgrades, cleanliness and dengue control drive

Lahore: Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ijaz conducted a field visit to City Tehsil and reviewed key civic management issues at China Chowk, GPO Chowk, and Mall Road. He inspected the Uniform Building Plan, cleanliness operations, dengue surveillance, and collection points under the Suthra Punjab drive. Officials briefed him on indoor dengue monitoring, larva elimination, and steps being taken to restore Mall Road’s historic character through building compliance. The DC directed authorities to remove encroachments, act against commercial owners violating building plans, eliminate standing water from vacant plots and construction sites, and ensure spray operations in affected areas. Better civic management can improve urban image, property appeal, tourism value, and investor confidence. Will stricter enforcement help Lahore become cleaner and safer?
