Data Darbar upgrade reviewed as Punjab plans better visitor facilities

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister’s Adviser and Chairman Religious Affairs Committee Ali Dar visited the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh to review ongoing construction and development work. He said the Punjab government is restoring and improving Data Darbar according to the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while preserving its spiritual, religious, and historical importance. Ali Dar said millions of devotees visit the shrine every month, making it essential to provide safe, modern, and comfortable facilities. Timely completion of development projects can improve visitor management, protect heritage value, support religious tourism, and boost nearby commercial activity. Such upgrades also improve urban image and public confidence. Can better facilities make Lahore’s historic shrine experience more organized?
