Lahore: A local court has reserved its decision on the prosecution’s request for further physical remand of suspects arrested in a case involving the alleged kidnapping and assault of foreign women. During the hearing, the prosecutor told the court that DNA and fingerprint tests had been completed, but investigation was still ongoing and recovery of a vehicle, laptop, cash, and weapon remained pending. Defence lawyer Salman Shahid opposed the remand, claiming his clients had no link to the case and argued that the matter was connected to a cryptocurrency dispute rather than kidnapping. Such cases affect public safety perception, foreign visitor confidence, business environment, and urban trust. Will the investigation bring clarity to this sensitive case?
