Federal Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Sri Lankan counterpart Anand Vijay Pala at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral coordination on counter-narcotics operations.
Both ministers agreed to enhance police training cooperation, prevent illegal immigration, and stop travelers using fake passports. They also discussed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on curbing criminal networks and money laundering. A joint working group between the two interior ministries will be formed to facilitate ongoing cooperation, and visa-related issues will be prioritized. Immigration heads from both countries will maintain direct contact to ensure real-time coordination.
