Karachi: A protest took place outside the Karachi Press Club organized by the National Labour Federation Karachi, led by Khalid Khan and Qasim Jamal. Demonstrators called on the government to raise salaries and pensions of all government employees by 20 percent. Protesters also demanded that the minimum monthly wage for workers be increased to Rs50,000, health cards issued to self-employed workers, and that the EOBI pension be aligned with the minimum wage. The participants urged authorities to implement stronger welfare measures and improve financial support for workers and pensioners struggling with rising living costs.
