Lahore: Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique visited the Home Department control room to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, including processions and religious gatherings. Officials from the Home Department, PFITEC coordination unit, and internal security division briefed him on real-time monitoring systems and deployment strategies. The minister stated that strict security measures have been implemented across Punjab, with more than 125,000 police personnel deployed for duty during Muharram. He emphasized that all processions and gatherings are being monitored through CCTV surveillance and coordinated control rooms across districts. Authorities also confirmed active cyber patrolling to monitor and respond to objectionable social media content. The visit highlights the government’s focus on ensuring peace, security, and inter-agency coordination during sensitive religious events. Can this integrated monitoring system further strengthen public safety management across Punjab?
