Workers to Get 10% Minimum Wage Increase Next Year

Islamabad – In the federal budget for FY2026-27, the government has announced a 10% increase in the minimum wage for laborers. Workers will see a rise of approximately Rs3,000 to Rs4,000 per month. The measure aims to provide relief amid rising inflation and improve living standards for low-income employees. The increase reflects the government’s focus on social welfare and economic stability, ensuring laborers benefit from national economic growth. Experts note that while this is a positive step, continuous monitoring will be necessary to ensure the wage hike keeps pace with inflation.
