Motorway Police holds emergency drill with Rescue 1122

Ali Raza Wajid : Lahore: Motorway Police South Zone, in collaboration with Rescue 1122, conducted a mock drill to strengthen professional skills and emergency response capacity. The exercise focused on handling accidents involving oil carriers, gas bowsers, vehicles transporting hazardous materials, and passenger vehicles. Practical training was given on providing immediate medical aid to the injured, shifting passengers safely to secure locations, securing the accident site, and maintaining smooth traffic flow during emergencies. The initiative matters because stronger highway response systems improve road safety, reduce disruption to transport corridors, and protect public confidence in intercity travel. Efficient emergency preparedness also supports logistics movement, trade connectivity, and economic stability. Can such drills improve Pakistan’s transport safety standards?
