Punjab approves Rs22bn development projects in P&D meeting

Ali Raza Wajid : Lahore: The 72nd meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), chaired by Chairman P&D Board Dr. Naeem Rauf, approved development projects worth Rs22 billion. Key approvals include Rs2.33 billion for road construction from Pakpattan to Chowk Marlay, Rs1 billion for a cancer centre building at Nishtar Hospital Multan, and Rs4.47 billion for Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences in Jubilee Town Lahore. Funds were also sanctioned for MRI machines in tertiary care hospitals and for Faisalabad and Multan. Additional projects include Rs1.27 billion for pathology upgradation at Children’s Hospital Lahore, Rs4.24 billion for a monument and museum at National Bank Park, and Rs6.47 billion for the old P&D building reconstruction. Policy approvals included para enforcement stations, CM Parwaaz Card, and establishment of a Climate Finance Unit Punjab.
