Punjab Assembly backs cameras in school transport

Ali Raza Wajid : Lahore: The Punjab Assembly has approved a resolution calling for safety cameras in public and private school transport to protect children during daily travel. The resolution was presented by government member Maria Talal and recommends that the Punjab government take effective measures for vans, buses, and rickshaws used by schools across the province. It also proposes that all school transport cameras should be linked with an integrated mobile application so parents can monitor their children directly. The move matters because safer school mobility improves parental confidence, strengthens education access, and supports better urban transport discipline. It may also increase demand for regulated school transport systems and safety-focused services. Can digital monitoring make school commuting safer for children?
