Punjab signs major labour health agreements

Muhammad Muzamil Awan : Lahore: Punjab Social Security has signed two important agreements with the Health Services Academy to strengthen healthcare, occupational safety, and professional training for workers. Under the initiative, an Occupational Safety and Health Management Centre will be established at Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital Lahore, while a Punjab Social Security Nursing College will also be set up. Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt attended the ceremony as chief guest. Commissioner Social Security Zulfiqar Ali Kharl and Health Services Academy Vice Chancellor Dr Shehzad Ali Khan signed the MoUs. The initiative matters because safer workplaces and stronger health services can improve labour productivity, industrial confidence, and long-term business stability. Can better worker protection strengthen Punjab’s industrial growth?
