Lahore traffic police tighten enforcement to curb pollution, unsafe driving

Ali Raza Wajid : Lahore : City Traffic Police Lahore has intensified enforcement measures to improve traffic flow, reduce environmental pollution, and ensure road safety. CTO Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi directed strict action against smoke-emitting vehicles and banned entry of sand-laden trucks without proper tarpaulin covers. Authorities are also targeting overloaded loader vehicles and rickshaws that pose risks to public safety. Officers have been instructed to ensure reflective tapes on heavy vehicles during night hours and to strictly check vehicle fitness certificates, barring non-compliant vehicles from entering the city. Additionally, enforcement actions must be carried out on the extreme left side of roads to maintain uninterrupted traffic movement.
