Punjab, Karachi agree to boost WASA cooperation, sign MoU soon

Muhammad Muzamil Awan : Lahore: A joint press conference by Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yaseen, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, and Chairman Punjab WASA Chaudhry Sher Ali Khan highlighted enhanced inter-city collaboration in water and sewerage services. Officials shared that Punjab has introduced digital monitoring for drainage and rainwater management, improving operational efficiency. The Karachi delegation was briefed on advanced systems including SCADA monitoring, solarization, helpline services, and wastewater treatment projects. Authorities revealed that WASA operations have expanded to 41 districts within a year, supported by modern infrastructure and digital systems. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation through knowledge sharing and announced plans to sign an MoU for improved service delivery.
