Lahore Development Programme gains pace, Phase-II 66% complete

Lahore: The Lahore Development Programme is progressing rapidly with work underway on its second phase. Officials stated that the project, launched last year, consists of two phases, with Phase-I already completed while Phase-II has reached 66% completion. Authorities highlighted that 5,774 streets have been constructed so far under Phase-II, with work ongoing on 2,156 streets and another 850 set to begin soon. The project also includes installation of street lights and improvement of sewerage systems. With an estimated cost of Rs 137 billion, the project is targeted for completion by June. A review meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress with participation from relevant departments.
