Punjab: The provincial government is planning a major expansion of the Safe City project by installing surveillance cameras in 7,000 union councils across the province. Officials stated that the initiative aims to extend monitoring beyond major cities into rural and semi-urban areas, strengthening law enforcement at the grassroots level. Authorities highlighted that the project will enhance crime prevention, improve response times and support data-driven policing. Experts believe that province-wide surveillance can significantly boost public safety and security, marking a shift towards a more integrated and modern monitoring system across Punjab.
