Multan: Secretary Housing Punjab Noor-ul-Amin Mengal visited various development project sites in Multan to review progress on ongoing infrastructure works under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab. During the visit, WASA officials and relevant authorities briefed him about the progress of development activities. The secretary ordered the immediate suspension of a site safety officer due to poor safety arrangements and lack of records, while also reprimanding the site engineer over a shortage of workers. He emphasized that strict compliance with safety protocols and SOPs will be ensured under the government’s zero-tolerance policy. The broader development plan for Multan is valued at Rs25 billion, with the first phase worth around Rs5 billion. The project includes the installation of 232 kilometers of sewerage lines, rehabilitation of 17 disposal stations, and construction and improvement of 64 kilometers of roads to enhance urban infrastructure and civic facilities in the city.
