Punjab decides strict action against transporters charging extra fares

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to take strict action against transporters charging excessive fares following the recent increase in petroleum prices. On the directives of Provincial Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Bilal Akbar Khan, transport authorities have been mobilized in the field to monitor fare compliance. Officials have been instructed to issue updated fare lists according to revised fuel prices. Special monitoring teams have also been formed to ensure transporters follow the official fare lists. The minister warned that any transporter found charging more than the approved fare will face strict legal action.
