Punjab reviews development plan, speeds up drainage projects

Lahore: Provincial Housing Minister Bilal Yaseen chaired a review meeting on the Punjab Development Plan, focusing on drainage and infrastructure improvements across multiple districts. Officials briefed the minister on monitoring timelines, rehabilitation of existing sewer lines, new sewerage networks, storage tanks and road restoration works. The government plans to procure major machinery including dewatering sets, sewer jetting machines and excavators to strengthen urban drainage systems. Authorities were directed to accelerate work before the upcoming monsoon and ensure quality compliance through Public Health Engineering consultants under long-term planning.
