Punjab launches Anti-Littering Squad in Lahore to enforce cleanliness laws

Lahore: The Suthra Punjab Authority has officially launched an Anti-Littering Squad to strengthen cleanliness enforcement across the city. The initiative targets illegal dumping of garbage, construction debris disposal, and burning of waste in public areas, markets, and residential neighborhoods. Under the defined legal procedure, violators will first receive a written notice with a seven-day compliance period. Continued violations will result in financial penalties, while repeated non-compliance may lead to FIR registration and possible arrest. The squad will conduct regular patrols on major roads and commercial zones while also running awareness campaigns for citizens and shopkeepers. Authorities emphasize that public cooperation is essential to achieve a cleaner and safer Lahore.
