Job Description
Communication and Works Department Government of the Punjab is inviting applications for the position of Manager Planning and Design Engineering under the Strategic Planning Unit SPU. The role focuses on planning design coordination and technical oversight for public sector development projects requiring multidisciplinary engineering input.
Responsibilities
Overall supervision through his team for Structural, Electrical, MEP and infrastructure Planning and design.
Meeting with client regarding Scope & condition of site.
Monitoring the preparation of drawings.
Issuance of drawings to clients / field staff.
Complete liaison with client, and relevant professional staff of SPU.
Updating the progress of work to C.D.O SPU on day-to-day basis.
Selecting and approving appropriate construction materials. Keeping in the view the economy of the project.
Monitoring and inspecting work under execution and advise corrective measures if any.
Visiting the site regularly to ensure no breach for design, specification criteria.
Preparation of reports on weekly, monthly basis.
Ensure forward planning on all implementation aspects of project during execution phase and maintains management focus on projects coming under his preview.
Monitoring the progress of project using target plan as reference.
Updating the plan and preparing look ahead programs to forecast any bottle neck.
Requirements
Minimum 16 years education in Civil Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
At least 15 years relevant post qualification experience
Strong background in planning and design of infrastructure projects
Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams
Knowledge of public sector project procedures and documentation
