Sewage Issues and Broken Roads Plague Lahore’s Qalandarpura Area

Residents of Qalandarpura, a locality adjacent to Harbanspura in Lahore, are facing prolonged hardship due to damaged roads and a failing sewerage system. Locals report that sewage water frequently overflows onto streets, creating unhygienic conditions, foul odors, and serious health risks, especially for children and the elderly. Despite repeated complaints over the past four to five years, residents say authorities have only carried out temporary repairs, leaving the core issues unresolved. Roads remain severely damaged, disrupting daily movement and access. Area residents have urged the concerned departments and elected representatives to immediately replace outdated sewerage pipelines and reconstruct the roads on a permanent basis. They warned that without urgent intervention, the situation could worsen further, affecting public health and livability.
