Multan–Vehari Dual Carriageway Project Reaches 50% Completion

Construction work on the Multan–Vehari dual carriageway project is progressing rapidly, with 50 percent of the project completed, officials confirmed. The update was shared during a review meeting chaired by Punjab Minister for Communications and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth. Authorities stated that 80 kilometers on one side and 20 kilometers on the other side of the road have already been completed. The project, being developed at a cost of Rs. 26 billion, is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Multan, Khanewal, and Vehari. Officials said the road will reduce travel time, fuel costs, and boost economic activity in southern Punjab. The project is scheduled to be opened for traffic by June 2026.
