Women in Lahore Can Now Call for Help With One Press

Lahore: The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has started installing emergency panic buttons and surveillance cameras on pedestrian bridges to improve safety for women and female students. The first phase covers bridges near Lahore College for Women University and Kinnaird College.

In case of harassment, threat or another emergency, a woman can press the button to establish direct contact with the Safe City Control Room. Officials can assess the situation through live surveillance and alert the relevant police team for immediate assistance.

PSCA says more key pedestrian bridges across Lahore will be connected to the system in phases. The authority already operates panic-button infrastructure at multiple locations across the city as part of its wider emergency-response network.
